Sri Lanka - Cosmetics & Sewing stuff collection

MAY 2006 Campaign - COLLECTING Sewing stuff and cosmetics for CONGO & SRI LANKA

I have collected the following stuff to send to WOMEN and GIRLS overseas. Stuff that your, mums, sisters and grannies haven’t used in AGES - and it’s a great opportunity to clean out the cupboards!

SEWING notions to send to women in remote villages in the CONGO.
Buttons, pins, zips, scissors, patterns, sewing machines, bias, stiffening, press studs, tape measures ( etc etc) material, thread, bobins, needles. (We collected 5-6 big bags full)

COSMETIC BAGS and cosmetics - Sent to 50 orphan girls in Sri Lanka.

Clean out your drawers of stuff - and if you have random toiletry bags and small cosmetic bags and nailpolishes that you’ve collected over the years and don’t use anymore!

Can you bear to part with it - SURE you can! Some little girl in Sri Lanka would LOVE IT - and YOU can go out and buy something new for THIS year!!!

May God Bless you. How are you ?
The situation in Trinco is not that good. Daily killing and shootings are taking place. People are disapparing. We are living in fear & and in tension..Our children are all OK.

Thank you once again dear Sue.

9 August:

Hello Sue,

Greetings to you thanks to you for your email. The situation in TRINCO is very very tensed. Our Three Sisters and 25 Orphans from Mutur hand very hard time and thay had to walk for few killometers and stayed in the forest and came back to us after two days . They have lot of stories to tell us. We have 75 families in Mary"s college and 200 families in St. Joseph’s College. They have lost all the things even their dear ones.
Still the shellings are going on. We are unable to move because of the the sick and old sisters. We are thinking of sending our children some where to our convents .

Thank you for your concern and care over us

God Bless you

Love Theresilda
