Sri Lanka Appeal for Bruno - Tsunami Relief 2005
In October 2004 and had thoroughly enjoyed discovering the beautiful country of Sri Lanka with our wonderful local tour leader Bruno.
When the Tsunami tragedy struck on 26 December 2004, my fellow travellers and I felt helpless - knowing that some of the places we had visited - the wonderful people we had met - would be destroyed or be suffering.
As much as we wanted to help other areas of the world and had already donated money to charitable organisations - we were frustrated. We wanted to find a practical way to HELP our dear friend Bruno and the people of Sri Lanka - directly.
January-May 2005
On Monday 10 January I received the following email from Bruno. I couldn’t sit by and NOT take action - and this is how SRI LANKA APPEAL FOR BRUNO was started.

"once again I am back. The terrible tidal waves which destroyed the country has destroyed many lives and property. Since your foot were at Srilankan soil, I thing that some of you like to help these people.
If you like to help, I got a call from Trincomalle which is east coast, and they said that they do not get that much of support from the gov. So they at the moment need Mates to sleep, pillows, Small tents, as well medicine like paracitamol, sarong, some dresses for the women ,
So , if you thing that you would like to do some help for them that would be great.
If you wish only.
Either you can send money then I will organize or if you have the things you can send me I will distrebut them.
